'Abarth' leaf spring:

Please note that the leaf spring must be kept constantly greased to achieve the optimal rebound performance! You can see how to grease the leaf spring in the video below.

Attention! Make sure to pre-load leaf springs!

To ensure optimum function, we recommend that you pre-load the leaf spring using a suitable mounting tool (e.g. our item n. 21162/M *).
The sufficiently pre-loaded leaf spring can then be attached to the leaf spring mounting points on the body, i.e. the leaf spring bearing blocks (item no. A04014), using the fastening bows.
In most cases, pre-loading the leaf springs makes the vehicle sit lower on the road, which allows for improved spring action and driving behaviour.

* Alternatively, you can pre-load the leaf springs by applying a uniform load to the front axle (e.g. by placing heavy sandbags in the boot) or by using studs (screwed evenly at the shock absorber mounting points between the car body and the steering knuckles).

Caution: Most sheets from our product catalogue have been painted with a storage primer. Due to long-time storage and long-distance transports, the storage primer may show scratches here and there. Since each sheet needs to be ground or primed anyway before final painting is done, such flaws do not constitute a reason for complaint.
