Attention! Make sure to pre-load leaf springs!

To ensure optimum function, we recommend that you pre-load the leaf spring using a suitable mounting tool (e.g. our item n. 21162/M *).
The sufficiently pre-loaded leaf spring can then be attached to the leaf spring mounting points on the body, i.e. the leaf spring bearing blocks (item no. 04014 or 04014/1), using the fastening bows (item no. 04009).
In most cases, pre-loading the leaf springs makes the vehicle sit lower on the road, which allows for improved spring action and driving behaviour.

* Alternatively, you can pre-load the leaf springs by applying a uniform load to the front axle (e.g. by placing heavy sandbags in the boot) or by using studs (screwed evenly at the shock absorber mounting points between the car body and the steering knuckles).
