Starting shot for the Classic Car Season 2019! Dear Customers, dear friends of the Fiat 500, Fiat 126 and Fiat 600, the classic car season has started, and this year again, you can select among several forthcoming Fiat 500 meetings. Garlenda – and many more! Every Fiat 500 lover knows this place and is aware that this name rings a bell in the scene: Garlenda! From July 5 to 7, 2019, Garlenda will host the the 36th edition of the big international Fiat 500 meeting of the Fiat 500 Club Italia, with Ireland as the guest country. It will feature various joyrides, musical performances, culinary treats, and the popular talk show on stage. But besides Garlenda, there are several other Fiat 500 classic car meetings. Please find below a brief selection of our favourites: June 7 to 10, 2019: The 24th edition of the NRJ event in the Sologne region organised by the Fiat 500 Club de France. Fiat 500 Club de France organises the 24th edition of this annual club meeting, taking place conveniently over the Whitsun weekend, in the lovely woods of the Sologne region and the similarly beautiful setting of the river Loire near Bracieux. The event is named “NRJ” after the initials of its founders. This year’s programme includes visiting a chocolate factory, the church of Saint-Dyé and the Matra museum in Romorantin as well as a picnic near Villesavin castle. By the way, this goes well with the 500 years anniversary of nearby Chambord castle that will be celebrated throughout 2019! August 18, 2019: The 4th Festival Italia on the Brands Hatch Circuit The Brands Hatch racing circuit, located south-east of London, Kent county, will host an Italian festival in August. A spectacular mix of car shows presenting classics of all Italian brands, stalls with Italian cuisine, several races (such as “Italians against the rest of the world”), and even Italian language courses, is awaiting the spectators. August 24 to 25, 2019: 15th International Fiat 500 / Vespa Meeting in Ycoor, Crans-Montana At the Fiat 500 and Vespa meeting in Crans-Montana (Switzerland), Fiat 500 and Vespa lovers are not only invited to present their vehicles to an international crowd, but will have a great time with various show events, rides, music animations – and they can prove their skills in a slalom course on the “Parking du Régent” car park. Accompanied by finest DJ music, there will be fireworks on Saturday evening. |

Much obliged! In an interesting article published by the US-American Automobile online car magazine (www.automobilemag.com), author Bob Merlis tells the story of his Fiat 500 Giardiniera and the positive experience with the Axel Gerstl team (accidentally misspelled as Alex Gerstl): „Keeping such an Italian classic running hasn’t been much of a problem. Mechanically it’s very straightforward and there’s Alex Gerstl (sic!) for spares. His enterprise, paradoxically based in Bavaria, is now in its 21st year (sic! It's been 31 years now) and stocks just about everything one might need to keep a Cinquecento moving. We ordered a brake master cylinder a while back and the elapsed time between order and delivery on the other side of the world was about four working days. He’s a big Cinquecento booster, offering information about club meets in various countries and sponsoring a photo contest, always nurturing the cult of the cute.“ You can imagine that the entire Axel Gerstl team was very proud to read this appraisal and replies with the words “Many thanks, Bob!” |
