500 Coupè Moretti
Giovanni Moretti started his business in 1925 in Via Monginevro in the Lesna quarter on the western outskirts of Turin. As many geniuses of the Italian motor world, Moretti was a son of the Emilia region. However, the company he founded was based in Turin, in the heart of Piedmont, where he made his professional dream come true after a series of blows suffered by his family. He succeeded so well that his company became another cornerstone of the city’s historical soul – which is also due to the fact that the Moretti company was perceived as an own brand from the very beginning and that the vehicles built by Moretti in the “Fabbrica Automobili e Stabilimenti Carrozzeria” were always held in high esteem in this city, which later became Fiat’s “territory”.

500 Coupè Moretti
The first prototype of the 500 Moretti Coupé was built in 1957. It was based on the underbody structure of the Fiat Nuova 500 N and was presented at the “Salone dell'automobile” in Turin. In 1960, a new prototype was built, this time based on a Fiat 500 D. A little later, in 1964, the last Moretti 500 Coupé saw the light of day. It was first built on the chassis of a Fiat Nuova 500 D, later it was a derivative of the Fiat 500 F. Its production continued until 1969. The design and shaping of its body came from the hands of designer Giovanni Michelotti, who created a model with elegant and harmonious lines.

The stylish coupé was equipped with a 2-cylinder engine that had a displacement of 499.5 cm³, delivering a maximum output of 22 hp at 4400 rpm. The model featured an independent suspension and reached a top speed of 115 km per hour. 1966 saw the introduction of the S and SS models, which were equipped with the Abarth motors 595 and 695.
